Solo Competitions

Many springtime competitions are coming up soon. Most schools participate in local and regional solo and ensemble competitions, but there are also a few national competitions to consider. The International Trumpet Guild has compiled a listing of trumpet competitions for 2007, some including thousands of dollars in prizes.

A Great Radio Program

An important part of every student trumpet player's experience should be performing. Whether as part of a band, orchestra, or Jazz group, performing helps kids build confidence and poise.

From The Top is a radio program produced by WGBH in Boston in association with The New England Conservatory of Music. It features performances by talented young music students from all over the country.

You can listen to many of the performances on their website. There are many good trumpet performances listed. These performances are a great example of what young players can accomplish with hard work and dedication.
