Q: Why do you
only have one trumpet model for sale?
A: Our goal was to make the
ideal student trumpet:
- a trumpet that was high quality to stand up to student
use and full featured to serve the student as he/she progresses
- a trumpet that was easy, risk-free and affordable for
parents to buy.
We could make a less expensive horn, but we'd be skimping
on materials and finish. We could make a more expensive model,
but we'd
be entering the professional level. Either way, we would be making
a trumpet that wasn't an appropriate student trumpet.

Q:
What is a “student” trumpet?
A: A student trumpet
is simply a standard trumpet intended for student use. It is
no different in size, shape or key (Bb) than
other trumpets.
Typical student trumpets are made of lower quality materials
and without features such as a 1st slide thumb saddle and 3rd slide waterkey.
Often these
trumpets don't stand up to student use, or need to be replaced
as the player progresses. Intermediate-level trumpets are made
of higher
quality materials and have all of the features of professional
models. Traditionally these trumpets have cost between $600 to
$900 dollars.
Our trumpet is made with the high quality materials
and full features found in intermediate level instruments. We
can offer
this level
of trumpet to you for significantly lower price because we sell
directly to you through our online store. The benefit to you:
you get an intermediate-level
trumpet at a student-level price.

Q: Will I find Haydn Trumpets
at my local music store?
A: No. If we sold our trumpets through
the music stores, you would pay a significantly higher price.

Q:
But isn't it important
to try out a trumpet before buying it?
A: Yes. That's
why we offer our risk-free
guarantee:
you can try our trumpet for 30 days. If you aren't
completely satisfied, send it back for a full refund.

Q:
Shouldn't I be
buying a trumpet from a manufacturer that has been around
a long time?
A: You can, but you will pay considerably more
money. We believe our trumpet is on par with the higher-priced
models
offered
by the traditional instrument companies.

Q: What makes your
trumpet
so good?
A: First and foremost, we're trumpet players
ourselves. So when we set out to design our trumpet, we knew
what we wanted.
We started by testing many, many horns. They
ran the gamut from totally unplayable to very nice, open, sweet-sounding
models.
Our testing showed us what worked – and what
didn't – in
a student trumpet. We took what we learned and set out
to produce a trumpet that met our precise requirements for
design, materials and
finish.
Once we had a prototype we put it through its paces.
We played it over and over, took it apart and put it
back together
again and again,
and basically treated it like a student might. It held
up perfectly.
We believe our horn represents the best balance of quality
and price for the student musician.

Q: Can you guarantee the quality of each
horn you sell?
A: We test each Haydn horn before
we ship it. We make sure it meets all of our standards before we
ask
it to meet yours. We're
so sure you'll be happy with your Haydn Trumpet that we offer
a money-back guarantee.

Q: Do I have to do anything to a trumpet before my student plays
it for the first time?
A: We take care of that for you. Before we
ship your trumpet, we oil the valves and lubricate the slides – so
the trumpet is all ready for your student to play the day it arrives.
And we provide
a full set of lubricants and instructions to help your student maintain
the trumpet.
See our trumpet maintenance page
for more information.

Q:
Shouldn't we buy a used trumpet? That's what our band
director recommended.
A: It sounds a lot easier than it is. There
are a lot of used trumpets offered through online auctions, but
you're
dependent on the seller's description and photos. We've
bought several trumpets this way, with mixed results. You can also
buy through your
local classifieds, but this requires a lot of time and effort as
you chase down ads. In either case, you still end up paying a considerable
amount – usually for an instrument that needs repairs. The
bottom line? Unless you already know trumpets, it's difficult
to buy used.
At Haydn Trumpets, our mission is to simplify the trumpet-buying
process by making new, high-quality trumpets affordable and accessible.

Q:
If I buy from you, do I have to buy online?
A: Almost all of our
orders come to us through our online store. We use the latest technology
to ensure our site is completely secure.
You can read our security
and privacy policy. If you are
still uneasy about buying online, call us at 1-888-224-4761 and we'll

Q:
Where are Haydn Trumpets manufactured and assembled?
A: Our trumpets are manufactured and
assembled to our strict design
specifications by our manufacturing partner in Asia. We are often
asked if
our horns are just more "cheap Asian imports." The answer
is No. We have
tried a great number of Asian-made instruments and agree that the
quality on
many of these is often well below par. But we have found the same
issues
with some European and USA manufacturers as well. The lesson we have
learned is not to judge a manufacturer by its location, but by its
quality.
We feel that our horns are of the best quality available anywhere.
Yes,
they cost more than some others, but quality costs. If we weren't
sure of
their quality we couldn't offer them with our 30 day no risk guarantee.
